As a result of wider public awareness in Israel regarding sexual abuse of children (in the family and outside) and the introduction of mandatory reporting legislation, many cases of child sexual abuse (CSA) were uncovered. After the initial criminal and social investigations, the victims were frequently left without therapeutic help due to a lack of services. My talk will describe the program led by several government ministries in order to develop therapeutic services, including training of therapists in the treatment of CSA, models of treatment provision and the current services in operation.
