Sexual Abuse between Siblings - Dafna Tener

Despite the recent and growing awareness of child sexual abuse

and the increase in training hours for staff in order to improve their ability to identify, direct, and care for child victims, the issue of sexual abuse among siblings is still less openly discussed in the world of sexual vulnerability.

This could be due to the fear and repulsion that this phenomenon evokes within us, and thus convinces us to believe that it doesn't exists. I spoke to Dr. Dafna Tener of the Jerusalem University about this issue. She has conducted several studies that will help us further understand the phenomenon and its prevalence.

Dr. Dafna Tener is a member of the Haruv Institute and works under the direction of Prof. Asher Ben-Arieh and a fellow researcher at the Center for the Social Studies under the direction of Prof. Zvi Izikovitz.
