The model uses the game of football as a mediation tool. Football is an international sport, an intercultural language and an event that transcends sectors, religions and genders. Football is a group game in which a group of individuals unite against another group and have a common goal. Football is very approachable and accessible to children and youth in terms of language, it creates a bridge to form meaningful relationships and allows for group and personal processes to occur. The therapist is the leader of the group and has an active and intervening role.
